Trump authorizes supply of Nvidia H200 chips to China

US President Donald Trump has authorized the American company Nvidia to begin supplying China with the second most powerful H200 artificial intelligence chips.

According to the Reuetrs agency, the American leader said this on Monday, December 8.

According to Trump, he informed the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, about this. He reacted positively.

Trump added that the US Department of Commerce is finalizing the details of the agreement. In the future, a similar approach will be applied to other manufacturers of AI chips, both Intel and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD).

The US President also announced that Washington will levy a 25% fee on such supplies. In August this year, a 15% fee was proposed.

"We will protect national security, create American jobs, and maintain leadership in artificial intelligence. Nvidia's American customers are already moving forward with their incredible, high-tech Blackwell chips, and soon Rubin, neither of which are part of this deal," Trump wrote on the Truth Social network.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, at the end of October this year, Nvidia became the first company in the world to exceed USD 5 trillion in market capitalization.
