Renowned Ukrainian logistics expert Mykola Kovzel notes that Western Ukraine has now become the foundation of the country’s foreign trade flows and a key direction for cooperation with Europe. According to him, the events of recent years have shaped a new logistics map of Ukraine, where Lviv, Zakarpattia and other border regions play a decisive role.

In his latest blog, Mykola Kovzel emphasizes: "Western Ukraine has become the main pillar of the country’s logistics. It is Lviv, Zakarpattia and other western regions that have taken on the main burden of foreign trade flows."

He notes that a new logistics map is emerging, with border crossings, warehouse facilities and cooperation with European carriers becoming defining elements. According to the expert, the western regions have effectively become the foundation of Ukraine’s trade links with Europe.

Mykola Kovzel also draws attention to the growing importance of export routes through Lviv and Zakarpattia: "The western corridors have taken on the function of the main channel for exporting products... This reorientation allowed Ukrainian businesses to maintain their presence on European markets and even strengthen their positions."

Kovzel describes this direction as not only economic, but strategic. In his view, investment in Western Ukraine’s infrastructure has a long-term effect:
"Powerful transport corridors, close cooperation with European partners and the development of new routes form the basis for the further growth of Ukraine’s economy and its integration into the European market."
