I am honest and decent person and I am going to front - Yermak made statement after dismissal and searches
Former head of the President's Office Andrii Yermak announced that he is going to the front after he resigned amid a corruption scandal and National Anti-Corruption Bureau's (NABU) investigative actions at his apartment.
The ex-official noted this in a comment to the American publication New York Post.
"I am going to the front and am ready for any repression. I am an honest and decent person. I was disgraced, and my dignity was not protected, despite the fact that I have been in Kyiv since February 24, 2022. I do not want to create problems for Zelenskyy - I am going to the front. I feel disgusted by the dirt poured on me, and even more disgusted by the lack of support from those who know the truth," the former head of the President's Office stated.
In his comments to the publication, the ex-official did not specify in which unit he plans to serve and when exactly he will go to the combat zone. After the emotional message, he stopped answering calls.
According to media reports, the searches at Yermak's house are related to the NABU investigation into the "Midas" case of corruption in the energy sector.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, due to the resignation of Andrii Yermak, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy updated the composition of the negotiating group, which is to meet in the United States this weekend with Donald Trump's Special Envoy Steve Witkoff to discuss the "peace plan".
According to Zelenskyy, the Ukrainian delegation will be led by Chief of the General Staff Andrii Hnatov. The group also includes representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Intelligence, and Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov.
