US warns Kyiv of risk of defeat and calls for urgent peaceful solutions - media

US Secretary of the Army Dan Driscoll told Ukrainian officials during a recent visit to Kyiv that the situation at the front is becoming critical and that the Ukrainian Armed Forces may face imminent defeat. It was reported by NBC News.

According to the sources, Driscoll emphasized that russia is increasing the intensity and scale of its air strikes, while its warfighting capabilities are virtually inexhaustible. He warned that Ukraine's situation will only get more complicated over time, so diplomatic decisions should be made as soon as possible to avoid being in a weaker position later

The American side also noted that the US defense industry is not able to maintain the supply of weapons and air defense systems in the required volumes to protect Ukrainian infrastructure and civilians for a long time.

According to NBC's interlocutors, the harsh warnings came after Driscoll presented a peace plan backed by Washington. In Kyiv, it was recognized as too favorable for moscow.
"The message was simple: you are losing, and you need to accept," the source described one of the key theses.

The meeting in Kyiv was part of a broader effort by some in the Trump administration to persuade Ukraine to accept a compromise version of the deal, despite russia's maximalist demands and the substantial territorial concessions it has been demanding.
