Ukraine-European alternative to US plan rejects territorial concessions without ceasefire - Bloomberg

Ukraine and its European partners intend to insist that any negotiations with the aggressor country russia on territorial concessions should be held only after a complete ceasefire.

Ukrainian and European officials have developed an alternative to the "peace plan" to end the war, which is being promoted by the United States. It includes a request for American security guarantees and a demand to use frozen russian assets to restore and compensate to Ukraine.

The Ukraine-Europe plan also rejects russia's demand that Kyiv cede territories not under the control of russian troops.

In addition, the United States would be compensated for its strong security guarantees to Ukraine, and russia would not be able to recover its frozen assets if it refuses to compensate for the damage.

Many other US proposals, including the return of all hostages, including children, would be acceptable. Ukrainian and European officials also want an end-of-war plan to include a family reunification program and provisions to alleviate the suffering of war victims.

Ukraine and Europe are set to present an alternative plan to US officials today at a meeting currently taking place in Switzerland.
