Zelenskyy announces complete reboot of energy sector. What are the first five steps?

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the start of a comprehensive cleanup and update of the entire management system of the energy sector of Ukraine. He reported this on Telegram.

According to the President, the government has received an urgent instruction to submit to the Verkhovna Rada a bill on updating the composition of the National Commission for State Regulation in the Spheres of Energy and Utilities (Energy Commission).

As part of the reboot of the energy sector, it is also planned to update the leadership of the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate and the State Energy Supervision Inspectorate.

Zelenskyy also instructed Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko to submit a proposal to the parliament for the appointment of a new head of the State Property Fund of Ukraine.

As part of the update of the authorities, Zelenskyy demands a complete reboot of the National Agency of Ukraine for Finding, Tracing and Management of Assets Derived from Corruption and Other Crimes (Asset Recovery and Management Agency, ARMA). According to his instructions, the competition for the head of the agency should be completed by the end of this year.

An audit of assets confiscated from russian entities and collaborators is also planned. According to its results, these objects should be promptly prepared for sale so that the funds received work exclusively in the interests of Ukraine - to strengthen defense and replenish the budget.

"All such objects should work one hundred percent in the interests of Ukraine, to ensure our defense and replenish the budget of Ukraine," Zelenskyy writes.

Recall that Zelenskyy signed a decree on the introduction of sanctions against Tymur Mindich and Oleksandr Tsukerman, defendants in the case of the corruption scheme at Energoatom. Both, according to the decree, are citizens of Israel.
