Martsinkiv tells reasons for murder of Farion and Parubiy and why they are not the last victims
The mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk Ruslan Martsinkiv told his version of why Iryna Farion and Andriy Parubiy were killed.
He said this in an interview with the Ukrainian News Agency.
"And why was Bandera killed in Munich, when there was no longer a liberation movement? These people could have done a lot more in terms of promoting the national idea. These are the ones that many of our enemies do not like. The Ukrainian language is exactly the factor that should unite Ukraine," the mayor believes.
In his opinion, Farion and Parubiy were passionate about the idea of unifying Ukraine through the Ukrainian language.
"In my opinion, all children already should speak Ukrainian. This is the best unity. I will give you an example: in 2022, when I was under fire in the Chernihiv Region, I so shouted at our soldiers in Ukrainian... and imagine what would have happened if I had shouted in russian? Therefore, for me, this is the biggest argument. For this reason, Moscow kills such people who were passionate about such an idea. I think this is not the last case when they are eliminating our people like this," Martsinkiv explained.
He noted that he is also on the FSB lists for liquidation.
"Many public figures, including me, are obviously on some lists. Moreover, I know this. Therefore, unfortunately, many people, especially public figures, who speak with bright national ideas, are enemies of Moscow and are on the hook of their special services," Martsinkiv said.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on August 30, an unknown person in Lviv fired eight shots at a member of the Verkhovna Rada, former speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, Andriy Parubiy, as a result of which the victim died on the spot.
Iryna Farion was killed on July 19, 2024, by a gunshot near the house in Lviv where she lived.
