Zelenskyy instructs government to ensure financing for gas imports and supply of equipment for electricity generation
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to ensure financing for gas imports and supply of equipment for electricity generation. Zelenskyy announced this on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
Zelenskyy, in particular, said that he had held a meeting with government officials on the results of the government's 100 days of work, as well as key tasks for the next 100 days.
"In particular, I instructed to immediately provide 100% financing for gas imports - there is already 70%, and we understand how to accumulate the necessary amount. The Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Energy must ensure the full implementation of our agreements with Germany, Norway, Italy, the Netherlands and the European Commission on financing and supply of the necessary equipment for electricity generation," he said.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Zelenskyy announced that the heating season in Ukraine will officially begin on October 28.
Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz Serhii Koretskyi reported that the company has accumulated 13.2 billion cubic meters of natural gas in storage facilities and plans to import additional gas due to russian attacks on gas production.
