Breach of dam in russian Belgorod Oblast complicated their offensive in Volchansk Axis - Joint Forces Group

The flooding in the Belgorod Oblast dealt a blow to the logistics and places of concentration of russian troops, reducing their combat capability. Attempts to bypass Volchansk were unsuccessful. Viktor Trehubov, head of the communications department of the Joint Forces Group, told this on the air of Suspilne.News.

"Some russian brigades really had a hard time, because the areas of their advance and accumulation were actually flooded. Obviously, this affected their combat capability. And this fact is definitely positive, because in general the situation in the direction is difficult," Trehubov noted.

Despite all the obstacles, the russians continue to attempt a breakthrough to Volchansk from the western direction, but their efforts remain in vain. Trehubov noted that some of the enemy forces are currently busy solving other problems, which could potentially ease the situation of the Ukrainian troops.

"The russians are trying to bypass the city from the west to the south, but they are not succeeding. If some of their forces are busy with other tasks, this will probably worsen their situation a little," he said.

Although the breach of the dam in Belgorod will not stop the russian attacks, Trehubov believes that it will lead to a decrease in their intensity and make it more difficult to supply enemy units.

"Let's remember what happened to the russians when the dam burst in the Kyiv Region. Some of the russians were cut off from their own. Although this is not the situation now, it is difficult to organize your actions when you have water under your feet. And it should be noted that it is not summer now," he added.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on October 26, the commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Robert "Magyar" Brovdi, confirmed the strike on the Belgorod Reservoir dam.

In the Belgorod Oblast, the aggressor country of the russian federation has introduced a facility-level state of emergency due to damage to the Belgorod Reservoir dam on the Siverskyi Donets River.
