Russia develops new methodology to influence youth of occupied territories of Ukraine - Defense Intelligence of Ukraine
The kremlin has issued new guidelines to its proxies in the occupied territories aimed at strengthening its influence on Ukrainian youth. Moscow's "recommendations" include tips on how to identify children who are interested in events in Ukraine, read international resources, or leave "anti-putin" comments on social media.
For the sake of ideological "reprogramming" of underage Ukrainians, the russians focus on forming a "tolerant attitude" to the russian invasion and imposing a propagandistic imperial version of history, in particular World War II.
The details were disclosed by the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine.
According to military intelligence, kremlin propagandists have recently developed new guidelines for "preventing the spread of the ideology of terrorism, extremism and neo-Nazism" among young people living in the territories temporarily occupied by russia.
"The document advises the occupiers and local collaborators to identify children who leave anti-Putin comments on social networks, are interested in events in Ukraine or simply read international resources, and to conduct "educational work" with them," the Defense Intelligence noted.
They emphasized that by "education" the kremlin means the formation of a worldview in Ukrainian children that is distorted by russian propaganda.
Thus, the "methodology" advises to limit the access of teenagers to historical materials, especially about the Second World War. Instead, it is proposed to impose russian propaganda history as a "Great Patriotic War" that should entrench the russian imperial narrative.
The kremlin also demands regular ideological classes that will shape Ukrainian children's tolerance for russia's invasion of Ukraine and instill the values of public obedience to the ruling regime.
"Such actions of the Kremlin are an integral part of the genocide of the Ukrainian people - aggressive propaganda among children to destroy their national identity grossly violates international law," the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine noted.
They also added that among the developers of the "methodology" are russians Irina Bobrakovskaya, Alexandra Bykadrova, Sergei Ventsel, Olga Galanina and Elena Malik. All of these people are "teachers" or "scientists" specializing in propaganda campaigns.
"The Defense Intelligence of Ukraine emphasizes: the authors of the materials and all those involved in the ideological influence on Ukrainian children will bear full and inevitable responsibility," the intelligence emphasized.
