In Zhytomyr Region, man detonated grenade on platform of railway station. 4 killed, 12 injured

On Friday, October 24, in the city of Ovruch, Zhytomyr Region, at about 10:50 am, a man detonated a grenade on the platform of a railway station. As a result of the incident, there are killed and injured people. This is stated in the message of the National Police.

Previously, law enforcement officers established that employees of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine were checking documents of passengers of a diesel train. At that time, one of them took out an explosive device on the platform, after which an explosion occurred. As a result, this man, a 23-year-old resident of Kharkiv, was killed. Three more women aged 29, 58 and 82, all residents of the Korosten district, were also mortally wounded. Among the deceased was a border guard.

As of 01:00 pm, it was known that four people were killed and 12 were injured.

Currently, investigative and operational groups of the Main Police Directorate of the region, police department No. 1 of the Korosten district administration, police explosives technicians, forensic experts, and other emergency services are working at the scene.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, a 59-year-old minibus driver will be tried in Kyiv, who, due to a quarrel with a colleague, threw an F-1 combat grenade at his minibus. The explosion damaged the vehicle, but no one was injured.
