The Ukrainian Defense Forces have destroyed a BM-30 Smerch multiple rocket launcher of the russian aggressor army in the occupied part of the Kherson Region.

The Southern Defense Forces reported this today, October 17.

The Smerch launcher was discovered and destroyed by the Lasar's Group unit in the occupier-controlled part of the Kherson Region.

It is emphasized that the occupiers' equipment was attacked almost 50 kilometers from the front line.

First, the Smerch was attacked by an FPV drone. After that, a Ukrainian "Baba Yaga" flew to the spot and destroyed the vehicle by dropping several rounds of ammunition on it.

The BM-30 Smerch is a multiple launch rocket system that fires 300 mm caliber projectiles. The minimum firing range is 20 kilometers, the maximum range is 70 kilometers (120 kilometers for the 9M542 adjusted projectile). It is the "big brother" of the Grad and Uragan missile systems.

According to the Oryx portal, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Ukrainian military has destroyed one and damaged another Smerch MLRS launcher. One 9T234 transport and reloading vehicle was also destroyed.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on October 11, Z-blogger Fighterbomber said that the russian military lost a Ka-52 reconnaissance and attack helicopter. The crash was allegedly not related to hostilities, and the crew was killed.

On October 6, soldiers of the 412th Nemesis regiment showed a video of the destruction of the R-330Zh "Zhitel" electronic warfare station, which was hit in the occupied part of the Luhansk Region.
