American Tomahawk missile wings will reduce the threat of russian massive air attacks on Ukraine by targeting critical military facilities in the territory of the russian aggressor country. Ukraine's Ambassador to the United States Olha Stefanishyna said this in a Telegram message, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"Regarding the possible supply of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, these long-range missiles can reduce the threat of massive air attacks by targeting critical military facilities in Russia. Demonstrating the ability to destroy military infrastructure is also a powerful deterrent," she said.

Stefanishyna also noted that ending the war does not require direct dialogue with the aggressor; it is necessary to exert joint constant pressure through sanctions, strengthening air defense and reliable security guarantees.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in his evening video address on October 14 that he was making "detailed preparations" for a conversation with US President Donald Trump, according to him, there are already some "decision outlines" regarding Patriot air defense systems and Tomahawk cruise missiles.

Trump and Zelenskyy will meet on Friday, October 17, at the White House to discuss military assistance to Ukraine, including the possibility of transferring Tomahawk missiles.
