The aggressor country russia was supposed to win the war against Ukraine in one week. Instead, the war has dragged on for almost four years.

The statement was made by US President Donald Trump on Tuesday, October 14.

While speaking to reporters, Trump once again said he was disappointed with russian dictator vladimir putin.

"I'm very disappointed because Vladimir (Putin) and I had a very good relationship. Probably still do. I don't know why he continues with this war. This war has been so bad for him," the US president said.

According to Trump, putin was supposed to win in a week, but the war has lasted almost four years. He also emphasized that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the russian army has lost about 1.5 million people killed and wounded.

Trump emphasized that this is the largest event since World War II in terms of mortality.

The American leader added that the russian economy is on the verge of collapse. He mentioned the long lines that are now lining up in a number of regions of the russian federation for gasoline.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on October 13, US President Trump said that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan could influence the end of russia's war against Ukraine.
