Nighttime explosions occur in Bryansk Oblast: power substation probably hit
On the night of October 12, a series of powerful explosions were recorded in the Bryansk Oblast of russia, causing panic among local residents.
According to russian Telegram channels, the loudest explosions occurred near the village of Vygonichi. Local residents posted videos of flashes and fires, suggesting that a power substation was hit.
There is no official confirmation of this information from the Emergencies Ministry of the Bryansk Oblast, as well as no verified footage from the scene.
Ahead of the explosions, local authorities in the Klintsovsky District and Surazhsky District declared a missile alert. People were urged to stay at home, stay away from windows and take shelter in safe rooms. Half an hour later, at about 3:30 a.m., the alert was canceled without explaining the reasons for its introduction.
It is not yet known whether the incident was caused by missile launches or drone activity in the region's airspace.
Over the past year, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has repeatedly reported successful strikes on energy infrastructure in the russian federation. In particular, in September 2025, Ukrainian units hit the 8-H dispatch station near the village of Naitopovichi, and on October 6, probably a thermal power plant in the city of Klintsy.
Earlier, on September 28, a large-scale accident at the Luch thermal power plant and substation occurred in Belgorod after a series of explosions, which partially left the city without electricity.
