Train traffic in Chernihiv and Sumy Regions temporarily suspended due to russian shelling
Train traffic in the direction of the Sumy and Chernihiv Regions has been temporarily suspended, as a separate section of the track is not open for travel. The head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration Oleh Hryhorov announced this on Facebook on Thursday, October 9.
Hryhorov noted that the russian occupants continue to try to complicate communication with the frontline regions.
"Train traffic in the direction of the Sumy and Chernihiv Regions has been temporarily suspended due to the impossibility of passing on a separate section of the track. Passengers are safe. We are constantly coordinating with Ukrzaliznytsia and communities to respond quickly to the situation and help people," wrote the head of the Sumy Regional State Administration.
According to him, passengers are being transported by backup vehicles and buses of local communities. Transfers have been organized to Konotop, Shostka and Sumy.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on October 9, Oleksandr Pertsovskyi, the Chairman of the Board of Ukrzaliznytsia, said, that the aggressor country russia is trying to hinder communication with the frontline territories, in particular with the Sumy and Chernihiv Regions.
