The Cabinet of Ministers will maintain a fixed gas price for household consumers. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this on his Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

Zelenskyy said that he had held a meeting with Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko on the recovery in the regions after russian strikes on the energy sector. They also discussed the situation in the gas sector, building up gas reserves and supplying people.

"We agreed that in the near future the government will adopt a resolution that will maintain a fixed price for natural gas for household consumers. Also, a decision has already been made on a moratorium on disconnecting consumers in frontline communities from energy supply. Despite all the challenges, we have to support the communities that are facing the most difficulties," he said.

He noted that the government has allocated an additional UAH 1.5 billion to the frontline regions to protect energy facilities, a reserve of equipment for the prompt restoration of power supply has been formed, and this reserve will be further increased.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on October 3, Svyrydenko said that by striking at the gas production infrastructure, the aggressor country russia is trying to disrupt the heating season in Ukraine.
