Chinese reconnaissance satellites flew over Lviv during today's russian attack

During today's massive air attack by the aggressor country of russia, at least four Chinese reconnaissance satellites were spotted in the sky over Ukraine, at least one of which was launched in 2021.

The Militarnyi portal reported this with reference to data from the Heavens Above monitoring service.

Thus, from 00:00 to 11:00, the flight of three Chinese reconnaissance SAR satellites was recorded in the Lviv Region: Yaogan 33, Yaogan 33-03 and Yaogan 33-04. During the specified period of time, they flew over the region nine times.

In addition, at about 6:00, the Yaogan 34 optical reconnaissance satellite appeared in the region. The device made at least seven orbits.

Little information about these satellites can be found in the open access. China previously stated that the Yaogan series satellites are used for scientific experiments and land resource research. However, it is assumed that Beijing will use these devices for military intelligence.

Yesterday, October 4, a representative of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, Oleh Aleksandrov, told the Ukrinform agency that China provides russia with satellite intelligence data. The occupiers use this information to launch missile strikes on Ukraine.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on the night of October 4-5, the russian army carried out a large-scale air attack on Ukraine, using more than 50 missiles of various types and about 500 drones.

The main targets of the occupiers were energy infrastructure facilities that provide gas supplies to Ukrainians in the winter.

The occupiers also struck Zaporizhzhia. They hit an energy facility, damaging some of the equipment. As a result, part of the city and surrounding settlements were left without electricity.
