Energy Ministry seeks international assistance after massive attack on Ukraine's energy sector

The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine has called an urgent meeting of the G7+ coordination group due to russia's massive night attack on the energy sector, at which it has sought international assistance.

This was reported on the Ministry of Energy website.

Deputy Minister of Energy Roman Andarak informed international partners about the consequences of the attack, which was aimed, in particular, at Ukraine's gas production infrastructure, and which Naftogaz called the most massive during the Great War.

"This is an obvious attempt to deprive Ukrainians of light and heat in the autumn-winter period. The russians have not given up their intentions to plunge Ukraine into darkness on the eve of the new heating season," he stressed.

According to him, with the intensification of russian attacks, the need to mobilize the support of international partners is growing. These primarily include physical and air defense systems, the need to purchase additional gas, and energy equipment for restoration and repairs.

Andarak expressed hope for continued support from partners and increased sanctions pressure on the russian federation. Thanks to the support of international partners, Ukraine was able to successfully overcome the three previous winters and quickly carry out the necessary repairs.

G7+ representatives, in turn, assured Ukraine of further support.
