The aggressor country russia earned RUB 582 billion from the sale of oil and gas in September this year. This is almost a quarter less than in September last year.

The russian edition of The Insider reported this with reference to the report of the Ministry of Finance of the russian federation.

The ministry published a report stating that federal budget revenues from oil and gas sales in September amounted to RUB 582.5 billion . In September 2024, the russian budget received about RUB 772 billion. Thus, russia's oil and gas revenues decreased by 24.5%.

At the same time, compared to the first month of this year, the decline in revenues from oil and gas sales amounted to about 27%. In January, the russian federation earned about RUB 789 billion from their sale.

Journalists also noted that from January to September 2024, the russian budget received RUB 8.3 trillion from the sale of oil and gas. For the same period of this year, it was about RUB 6.6 trillion , which is a 20.6% reduction.

According to The Moscow Times, last year, russian officials budgeted almost RUB 11 trillion in oil and gas revenues for 2025. Of this, RUB 1.8 trillion were to be allocated to the National Welfare Fund (NWF), which has been noticeably depleted in recent years.

The drop in oil and gas revenues forced the russian Ministry of Finance to adjust the projected amount of revenues and reduce it by almost a quarter to RUB 8.32 trillion.

As the Ukrainian News agency reported, earlier this September it became known that the russian government would raise the value added tax rate to curb the budget deficit caused by the enormous costs of the war against Ukraine.
