AFU break through russian defenses in Dobropillia Axis - Syrskyi

Ukrainian troops have achieved an important success in the Pokrovsk district of the Donetsk Region, having cut off the so-called "Dobropillia salient" of the occupiers.

On October 1, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi announced this on Facebook, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"Our Defense Forces have cut off the so-called "Dobropillia salient" of the enemy and are doing everything to inflict maximum losses on the russian occupiers. Over the past day, control has been restored over another 2.2 sq km of Ukrainian territory," he said.

According to the command, within the framework of the operation, Ukrainian units conducted strike and search operations on an area of ​​about 3 sq. km, eliminated sabotage groups and advanced on separate sections of the front from 100 to 1,400 meters.

The enemy's losses per day amounted to 80 people, of which 52 were directly during the fighting.

In total, since the beginning of the counteroffensive operation in this direction, 177.8 sq km of territory have been liberated, and another 198.9 sq km have been cleared of sabotage groups.

As of October 1, the total losses of the russian army in the Dobropillia Axis amounted to about 3,320 soldiers, of which 1,864 were irretrievable.

Syrskyi also reported that the invaders lost 971 units of weapons and military equipment there, including: tanks - 14, armored combat vehicles - 38, artillery systems - 202, MLRS - 5, automotive equipment - 453, motorcycles and ATVs - 61, special equipment - 1, UAV - 197.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on September 26, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi told how the Ukrainian military managed to stop the advance of the russians in the Dobropillia area and take the occupiers "into the bag."
