According to a survey among Ukrainians under 22, 23% plan to go abroad, the main reasons being safety, avoiding mobilization and career prospects.

Most respondents are studying or combining their studies with work, and more than half have friends who have already left or are planning to leave.

The lifting of restrictions on the travel of men aged 18-22 has become a challenge for Ukrainian business, as they often attract young employees to starting positions.

According to the survey, 41% of employers have already felt a noticeable impact, and another 15% noted partial changes. The biggest problems are the increase in layoffs among young employees (59%) and the difficulty in finding candidates of this age (55%).

Businesses will adapt through process automation, increased productivity, increased salaries and additional motivational programs.

Employers hope that in the future, young Ukrainians who have gained experience abroad can return with new knowledge, ideas and contacts, which will have a positive impact on the economy.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, after the government allowed men aged 18-22 to leave, some Ukrainian businesses experienced a staff outflow and began to attract workers from abroad, in particular from India and Bangladesh.
