Russia strikes SESU unit on professional holiday: rescuer killed, two injured
Yesterday, September 17, on professional holiday, Rescuer's Day, russian occupiers attacked emergency workers in Nizhyn, Chernihiv Region. As a result of the strike on the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU) unit, a rescuer was killed, and two more were injured.
This was reported by the head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, Vyacheslav Chaus.
"The aggressor attacked Nizhyn again. It used drones - Shaheds and Geran - to strike one of the SESU units. Cynical and cruel: on Rescuer's Day - to strike rescuers. Unfortunately, the 45-year-old emergency worker died from his injuries," the report says.
A 36-year-old rescuer was also injured and is under the supervision of doctors in a metropolitan hospital. In addition, the 31-year-old rescuer is in the traumatology department.
In addition, the Chernihiv Region has also suffered other attacks - the enemy hit a farm in the Novhorod-Siverskyi district with artillery. The granary and warehouse were damaged.
In the Koriukivskyi district, a forest fire broke out due to a UAV attack - the fire was extinguished.
In total, over the past 24 hours, the aggressor shelled the Chernihiv Region 22 times. 48 attacks in 14 settlements of the region.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the day before, the russian occupiers again struck with drones at Ukrainian rescuers who were extinguishing a fire at the site of the previous hit of a russian strike drone in the Kyiv Region.
