Zelenskyy explains why Ukrainian military personnel are no longer sent abroad for training
The Armed Forces of Ukraine no longer send servicemen abroad for training because they need to be retrained upon their return. He said this in an interview with Sky News.
According to him, many soldiers who have been trained abroad had to be retrained in accordance with the new challenges of modern warfare.
"Since the beginning of the war, we have been sending our military to the Baltic countries, Scandinavian countries, Great Britain, Poland, and also to the United States. In the subsequent period of this war, the following year after the start of the full-scale invasion, we realized that we could no longer train our people there, because the war has changed," Zelenskyy said.
It is also noted that Ukraine seeks to share its unique experience with others.
"We are not sending our soldiers abroad, instead we are inviting officers and representatives from different countries to study here. They are listening to us, some are already arriving, because they need to understand these new approaches that we have learned through real combat experience," the President said.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Ukrainian military can conduct defense of the sky and air defense training for partners, both in Poland and in Ukraine.
