Intelligence reveals filling of russian UAV Geran-3 with turbojet engine

The Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has published a 3D model, components and foreign component base of the russian UAV Geran-3 with a turbojet engine.

The Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has stated this on Facebook, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

The Geran-3 UAV is an analogue of the Iranian jet UAV Shahed-238. This U-series drone uses the Chinese Telefly JT80 turbojet engine, thanks to which the UAV is able to move at a speed of 300 to 370 km/h; the estimated operational range of use is up to 1000 km.

It is noted that the maximum speed of up to 370 km/h Geran-3 gains mainly in the areas of action of Ukrainian air defense and electronic warfare means, in the areas of use of UAV interceptors and in the terminal stages of the flight when descending to the target.

According to the Defense Intelligence, the layout of modules and electronic units is mostly no different from the gasoline versions of the "Y" series Geran-2: in particular, it includes the standard SADRA inertial navigation system, air pressure measurement unit (ADC), power distribution unit (PDU), etc.

And to ensure protection of satellite navigation from electronic warfare means, Geran-3 uses a jamming-protected satellite navigation system with a controlled reception pattern antenna (CRPA) of 12 elements - "Kometa-M12".

The intelligence officers reported that out of a total of 45 identified foreign components:

According to available data, the Geran-3 jets are also equipped with a camera and a video transmission system from the Geran-2 UAV of the Kommersant series.
