Since beginning of year, russians have taken about 11,000 children from occupied territories for re-education

Since the beginning of this year, about 11,000 children from the occupied territories have visited camps where the aggressor country of russia subjects them to propaganda and ideological processing.

This was stated by Ksenia Kornienko, a lawyer for the Regional Center for Human Rights organization, during a presentation at Media Center Ukraine.

Kornienko said that the russians are actively creating so-called camps where children from the occupied territories are systematically brought. There, they are subjected to processing, the purpose of which is "re-education" and the destruction of national identity.

In 2023-2024, at least 98 such institutions operated in russia and the occupied territories. In two years, at least 8,200 children were taken there.

Kornienko emphasized that recently the program in such camps has become more militarized.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in July this year, the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine stated that the agency's cyber specialists managed to gain access to lists of children who were forcibly taken from the occupied territories.
