In US, they propose to recognize russia and Belarus as state sponsors of terrorism due to deportation of children

A group of US senators from both parties has come forward with an initiative to declare the aggressor country of russia and Belarus as state sponsors of terrorism. The reason was the mass deportation of more than 19,000 Ukrainian children from the temporarily occupied territories.

This is reported by Axios.

The new bill was introduced by Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, Democrats Richard Blumenthal and Amy Klobuchar, as well as Republican Katie Britt. The document states that if russia and Belarus do not return illegally removed children, they can be officially recognized as state sponsors of terrorism.

Currently, the list of such states in the US includes Cuba, Iran, North Korea and Syria.

"Getting on this list is not easy, but russia has long deserved such a decision. We will ask the leadership of both parties to allow us to put the issue up for discussion and voting in the near future," said Lindsey Graham.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on September 3, the British government announced new sanctions against individuals and legal entities from russia involved in the deportation of Ukrainian children.
