British Prince Harry arrives in Kyiv on unannounced visit

British Prince Harry arrived in Kyiv on September 12 on an unannounced visit and said he wanted to do "everything possible" to help with the rehabilitation of thousands of wounded servicemen. This is reported by The Guardian.

Harry arrived in Ukraine with the team of his Invictus Games Foundation. According to him, they intend to discuss in detail new initiatives to support the rehabilitation of the wounded in order to provide assistance in all regions of the country. In an interview, the Prince said that he was initially invited to Kyiv by Olha Rudneva, the founder and CEO of the Superhumans trauma center in Lviv, where wounded amputees are treated. He visited the center in April, but met her by chance a few months ago in the United States.

"She said, 'You have the biggest impact when you come to Kyiv.' I had to agree with my wife and the British government to make sure everything was okay. Then the official invitation came," the British Prince said.

Speaking to The Guardian during an overnight trip to the Ukrainian capital, the Duke of Sussex said he hoped the trip would help people not to lose their sensitivity to what was happening.

"We can't stop the war, but we can do everything we can to help the recovery process. We can continue to humanize the people involved in this war and what they're going through. We have to keep that in the spotlight. I hope this trip will help people realize that, because it's easy to lose sensitivity to what's happening," he added.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in April, the Duke of Sussex visited the Superhumans Center in Lviv, accompanied by veterans, participants in the Invictus Games. The trip was part of Prince Harry's ongoing work to help wounded veterans.
