White House calls Israeli strike on Qatar "unfortunate incident"

The White House said that the Israeli airstrike on Qatar was "unfortunate incident" and did not serve the interests of either Israel or the United States.

This was reported by Donald Trump administration spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt.

According to her, Washington received information about the attack from the American military. The US President instructed Special Envoy Steve Witkoff to warn Doha, but the strike still took place.

"We do not approve of the unilateral bombing of Qatar, a sovereign state and an ally of the United States. The President is very saddened by the location of this attack," Leavitt said, adding that the elimination of Hamas remains a "worthy goal."

After the incident, Donald Trump held talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Qatari leadership. The American leader stressed the need for a quick peace and promised Doha that there would be no more such attacks.

At the same time, the Qatari Foreign Ministry stated that the reports of a warning from the US were false: according to them, the call from Washington came after the explosions.

As a reminder, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out precise strikes on the leadership of the Hamas terrorist organization in the Qatari capital, Doha.
