Deflation of 0.2% recorded in Ukraine for second time in a row
In August 2025, consumer prices decreased by 0.2%.
The State Statistics Service has announced this, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
In particular, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages in August decreased by 0.8%, for clothing and footwear - decreased by 3.2%, for housing and communal services - increased by 0.2%, for services related to healthcare - increased by 0.5%, for education - increased by 0.3%.
Compared to August 2024, in July 2025, consumer prices increased by 13.2%.
In January-August 2025, inflation was 6.0%.
In August 2025, the core consumer price index increased by 0.5%.
Compared to August 2024, in August 2025, the core consumer price index increased by 11.4%.
Core inflation is a subindex of the consumer price index.
Core CPI (core inflation) is a part of inflation that reflects the dynamics of free prices without taking into account items whose prices are affected by administrative and seasonal factors.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in July 2025, consumer prices decreased by 0.2%.
In 2024, inflation was recorded at 12.0%, in 2023 - inflation at 5.1%, in 2022 - inflation at 26.6%, in 2021 - inflation at 10.0%, in 2020 - inflation at 5.0%.
In 2024, core inflation was 10.7%.
The state budget for 2025 foresees an increase in consumer prices (December to December of the previous year) of 9.5%.
