Britain extends support program for Ukrainians for another 2 years
UK Home Secretary Yvette Cooper announced that the government has decided to extend the Ukraine Permission Extension program for another 24 months. This is reported by European Pravda.
Speaking in parliament, Cooper emphasized that the program allows Ukrainians who have found refuge in the UK to remain there in safe and legal conditions.
"We will continue to make our contribution by supporting Ukraine and Ukrainians who were forced to leave their homes due to the war," the minister emphasized.
In addition, the UK confirmed its readiness to continue providing humanitarian assistance. In particular, this concerns the organization of treatment for children who were seriously injured in the Gaza Strip, as well as providing education for a new group of refugee students at British universities.
As a reminder, Polish President Karol Nawrocki stated that only Ukrainians working in Poland should receive assistance under the "800+" program, so he did not sign the amendment to the law on assistance to Ukrainian citizens. However, the Polish government promises to resume assistance to Ukrainian refugees, which the President had stopped.
