White House moves portrait of Obama and other former presidents to private area on Trump's order

On the orders of US President Donald Trump, the White House has moved the portraits of his predecessor Barack Obama, as well as former leaders George W. Bush and George W. Bush from the main lobby to a private part of the residence, where visitors are not allowed.

This is reported by CNN.

Now, only members of the first family, certain officials and security will be able to see the portraits. Most White House employees and guests will not see them.

Earlier, in April, during the incident with the assassination attempt in Pennsylvania, the portrait of Obama was already moved - then it was replaced from the central lobby with a painting of Trump and moved to another room.

Such changes contradict the current White House protocol, according to which portraits of recent presidents should be placed in central areas so that participants in official events and excursions can see them.

Trump previously protested a portrait of himself hanging in the Colorado State Capitol and demanded it be removed because it depicted Trump "horribly." The portrait was removed after the outcry.

In 2025, russian dictator vladimir putin gave to Trump the US President's portrait by a "leading Russian artist." It shows Trump heroically raising his fist after being wounded.
