A meeting between US President Donald Trump and russian dictator vladimir putin is tentatively scheduled for next week, Sky News reported on Friday, August 8, citing a White House spokesman.
A senior White House official said the meeting between Trump and putin is scheduled for late next week, but the venue is still being discussed. The United Arab Emirates, Hungary, Switzerland and Rome are among the possible locations.
"The official said the Russians have provided a list of demands for a potential ceasefire, and Washington is now trying to get buy-in from the Ukrainians and European allies. For their part, the Ukrainians have long said they would not concede any territory that Russia has illegally annexed," the report says.
According to the publication, the exact date, details of the meeting and logistics are still unknown. The publication also does not know whether Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will be at the meeting.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on August 7, US President Donald Trump announced that he may meet with russian dictator vladimir putin in person in the near future.
Also on August 7, putin named the United Arab Emirates as a likely location for a meeting with Trump.
On August 8, Fox News reported that a meeting between Trump and putin could take place on Monday, August 11.
