Ukraine-russia meeting in Turkey. Zelenskyy names key topics

The key issues of the meeting of Ukrainian and russian delegations held in Turkey are the release of Ukrainians, the return of children, and preparations for a meeting between the leaders of Ukraine and the aggressor country, russia.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this on Wednesday, July 23.

Zelenskyy noted that a meeting of delegations was taking place in Istanbul, at which key security issues were discussed.

"We are determined to continue working to release our people from Russian captivity, to return our Ukrainian children, and for a real ceasefire. The priority is to prepare for a meeting of leaders, and our delegation has the necessary strength for this - directives to discuss key issues," the President of Ukraine said.

According to him, a new stage of the exchange and return of Ukrainians from russian captivity is being prepared.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on July 23, Zelenskyy said that Ukrainian representatives at the talks in Turkey would insist on the need for an immediate and complete ceasefire, including strikes on civilian infrastructure.

On July 22, kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that there is no reason to expect breakthroughs from the third round of direct talks with Ukraine.

As a reminder, on July 11, the head of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine said that a ceasefire in Ukraine can realistically be achieved by the end of the year, and it is not difficult to do so.
