Russia does not stop terror, blocks diplomacy and therefore deserves sanctions and strikes on its logistics, military bases and production facilities – Zelenskyy
Russia does not stop terror, blocks diplomacy and therefore deserves sanctions and strikes on its logistics, military bases and production facilities. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this on the Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
Zelenskyy noted that yesterday, July 23, at a meeting in Istanbul (Turkey), the russian side again voiced a proposal from Ukraine to immediately and completely cease fire. In response, russian drones struck residential buildings and the Pryvoz market in Odesa, high-rise buildings in Cherkasy, energy infrastructure in the Kharkiv Region, a university gym in Zaporizhzhia, the Donetsk, Sumy and Mykolaiv Regions.
The President reported that on the night of July 24, Ukraine was attacked by 103 strike drones, most of which were Shaheds, and four missiles.
"Russia does not stop terror, blocks diplomacy, and that is why it deserves full-scale sanctions responses and our strikes on its logistics, on its military bases, on its military production. We will do everything to make diplomacy work. But it is Russia that must stop this war, which it itself started," Zelenskyy stressed.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the third round of talks between Ukraine and russia took place in Istanbul on July 23. The talks lasted less than an hour. The Ukrainian delegation, headed by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov, raised the issue of a ceasefire, the release of prisoners, and preparations for a meeting of leaders for a just peace.
According to the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Heorhii Tykhyi, the atmosphere during the third round of negotiations with the aggressor country russia in Istanbul (Turkey) was different and more constructive than the previous two.
