Prosecutor General's Office will not audit all NABU cases, except those that have been investigated for years

The Prosecutor General's Office will not audit all cases of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO), except those that have already been investigated for years.

This was stated by Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko at a press conference, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The Prosecutor General emphasized that only those cases that have been investigated for 2-3 years will be audited. Kravchenko also stated that the NABU and the SAPO should not coordinate with him as the Prosecutor General on conducting covert investigative actions.

"Does the law say anything about covert investigative actions? No," Kravchenko said. The Prosecutor General added that the NABU and the SAPO should not coordinate their actions, except for those established by law.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the parliament passed in the second reading bill No. 12414 with amendments that give the Prosecutor General access to all NABU cases and the authority to independently sign suspicions against all top officials. Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko said that he is not going to take the case against former Vice Prime Minister Oleksii Chernyshov from NABU. The Director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine Semen Kryvonos appealed to the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, urging him not to sign bill No. 12414, which the parliament passed in the second reading.
