Erdogan suggests putin to continue talks with Ukraine in Istanbul

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had a telephone conversation with russian dictator vladimir putin, in which he stressed the importance of holding a third round of talks with Ukraine.

The Daily Sabah newspaper reported this on Friday, July 18, citing the press service of the Turkish president.

According to the newspaper, Erdogan discussed bilateral relations between Turkey and russia and "regional developments" with putin.

"In a statement following the call, Erdogan stressed the importance of resuming the third round of peace talks between Moscow and Kyiv and suggested continuing the upcoming talks in Istanbul if both sides agree on the appropriate dates," the report said.

The kremlin expressed "concern over the events in Syria."

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on July 10, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that there are currently no plans for negotiations with the aggressor country russia.
