Israel restricts citizens' departure from country
Israeli Transport Minister Miri Regev said that citizens' departure from the country is temporarily restricted. This is reported by The Times of Israel.
"At this stage, we will not approve the departure of Israelis abroad. Those who are currently traveling abroad are people who have come to the country on a visit - diplomats, tourists, etc.," Regev noted.
At the same time, Israel is working on an operation to return more than 100,000 citizens who have been stranded abroad since the start of Israel's attack on Iran.
Israel's airspace has been closed since the start of the conflict with Iran on Friday, June 13, and the country's national airline El Al canceled all flights until June 17, with dozens more canceled until June 23, so that the airline can redirect planes for the operation to return Israelis who are abroad.
"We are preparing rescue flights to bring Israelis home. We will do this in a very organized manner in coordination with the Ministry of Defense," Regev said.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged Ukrainians to leave Israel and Iran as soon as possible.
