Missile penetrates 9 floors. Russia hits residential building in Kyiv with ballistic missiles, entrance destroyed
On the night of June 17, russian troops carried out a massive strike on Kyiv with drones and missiles. One of the most powerful strikes fell on a high-rise building in the Solomianskyi District.
The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko has reported this at the scene of the tragedy, an RBC-Ukraine correspondent reports.
According to the Minister, at least 27 objects in the capital were damaged as a result of the attack. About two thousand people are working on the ground - rescuers, law enforcement officers, doctors and utility workers.
"Currently, one killed and 40 injured have been confirmed. But we are waiting for updated information - from one location where a residential building was hit, there may be significant losses. Confirmation will be in 10 minutes," Klymenko noted.
The Minister specified that, according to preliminary data, the nine-story building was hit by a ballistic missile.
"The force of the impact was so great that the missile penetrated all nine floors of the building," he said.
Search and rescue operations have already begun and may last at least 24 hours.
