Ukraine receives another EUR 1 billion from EU at expense of russian assets – Shmyhal

Ukraine received another EUR 1 billion from the European Union at the expense of russian assets. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this on the Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

He noted that this is the fifth tranche of macro-financial assistance from the EU within the framework of the G7 Extraordinary Revenue Acceleration for Ukraine (ERA) initiative.

According to Shmyhal, the funds raised will be directed to key state budget expenditures.

In total, under the ERA initiative, Ukraine has already received EUR 7 billion from the EU, this resource is provided by revenues from the use of immobilized assets of the russian federation.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in May, Ukraine received EUR 1 billion - the fourth tranche from the EU within the framework of the ERA initiative. ERA provides for the allocation of USD 50 billion to Ukraine by the G7 countries, of which the EU contribution is EUR 18.1 billion (USD 20 billion). It is expected that Ukraine will receive the remaining funds from the EU in installments until the end of 2025.
