United States ready to respond: Trump comments on Israeli air strikes on Iran

US President Donald Trump confirmed that he had been warned about Israel's plans to attack Iran, and stated that the United States was ready to defend its own forces in the region and support Israel in the event of retaliatory strikes.

Trump said this in an interview with FoxNews.

According to him, he learned in advance about the preparation of the Israeli operation.

"Iran cannot have a nuclear bomb and we are hoping to get back to the negotiating table. We will see. There are several people in leadership that will not be coming back," Trump said.

He also noted that American troops in the region have been placed on high alert, and the United States is ready to defend itself and support Israel in the event of an Iranian response.

Recall that on the night of June 13, Israel carried out air strikes on facilities in Iran, which, according to him, are related to the nuclear program. The attack was aimed at preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons.

The strike reportedly killed the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Hossein Salami. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei acknowledged the losses among the leadership and vowed revenge against Israel.
