Our units in Sumy Region gradually pushing out occupier — Zelenskyy
The Ukrainian Defense Forces are gradually pushing out the units of the army of the aggressor country, russia, from the territory of the Sumy Region.
The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this on June 12.
Zelenskyy said that he heard a report by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, on the situation at the front.
According to Syrskyi, the Ukrainian military is gradually pushing out the occupier from the territory of the Sumy Region.
Zelenskyy did not provide any other details about the situation in the Sumy Region.
According to the Ukrainian analytical project DeepState, russian troops are currently located a little more than 20 kilometers from the city of Sumy.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on June 11, MP Mariana Bezuhla stated that the purpose of the russian army's offensive in the Sumy Region is allegedly to attack Kyiv.
Recall, on June 9, the Sumy Regional Military Administration reported whether the occupiers' FPV drones are capable of reaching Sumy, taking into account the advance of the russian army in the north of the region.
Shortly before that, the regional authorities stated that russian troops are trying to gain a foothold in the settlements of the Khotyn and Yunakivka communities.
