Russia wants to destroy Odesa to reach borders with Romania and Moldova – Zelenskyy
The aggressor country russia is considering Ukraine as a resource and military base for future invasions. Moscow wants to destroy Odesa, and then reach the borders with Moldova and Romania.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this at the Ukraine-Southeast Europe summit on Wednesday, June 11.
Russia's main target for creating chaos remains Ukraine, Zelenskyy stressed. According to him, for three decades moscow has been trying to keep Moldova in poverty and instability, in Romania - to manipulate public opinion, and in the Balkans it is inciting ethnic conflicts and coup attempts.
"And finally, here we are again, in our beautiful city, Odesa. This beautiful city is a target for Russia. It wants to destroy it, as it destroyed countless cities and villages in the occupied territories. Russian military plans are aimed at this region - Odesa, and then at the borders with Moldova and Romania," Zelenskyy said.
Russian dictator vladimir putin does not want to end the war against Ukraine, but it is necessary to force russia to seek peace and political survival, the Ukrainian President emphasized.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on June 10, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he would negotiate on the territories of the state exclusively with russian dictator vladimir putin.
On June 8, Zelenskyy said that russia did not support any Ukrainian proposal to resolve the conflict.
On June 2, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded to the proposal of the aggressor country russia to introduce a limited ceasefire to supposedly collect the bodies of the fallen, and called the authors of this idea "idiots."
