Kyiv shrouded in smoke after shelling: dangerous levels of air pollution in some districts

On the morning of June 10, Kyiv was shrouded in smoke due to large-scale fires after a night attack by the russian federation. According to the SaveEcoBot platform, at 6:00 a.m. the air quality index in the capital reached 155 points — a harmful level for sensitive groups of the population.

The worst situation was recorded in the Holosiyivskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts, as well as in the left-bank Pozniaky. The air humidity is 75%, which helps to retain the smoke.

“The smoke is caused by fires that arose as a result of the night shelling. The industrial zone was particularly affected, where rescuers brought in aircraft to put out the fire,” the State Emergency Service reported.

At 8:00 a.m., air quality remained hazardous — in some areas the pollution index was up to 140 points with a standard of 50.

Public transport disruptions were recorded in the city, especially in districts where the impact is being eliminated. In the Obolonskyi district, a high-rise building was partially destroyed, and cars were damaged.
