Border areas of Sumy Region become one of main areas of attack of russia – AFU Commander-in-Chief Syrskyi

The russian army has significantly intensified in the Zaporizhzhia direction and focused its efforts on the border areas of the Sumy Region, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi reported in his report for May.

The relevant information was distributed on the official page of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.

"The defense forces continue to restrain the enemy, inflicting significant losses on it. The enemy focused its main efforts on the Pokrovsk, Toretsk, Lyman, Novopavlivka axes, as well as on the border areas of the Sumy Region with the Russian Federation.

Thus, in May, DeepStrike weapons were used to strike 58 targets on the territory of the Russian Federation - military facilities were hit, and the capabilities of the aggressor's military-industrial complex were undermined. Among the targets were explosives production facilities and strike UAVs," the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted.

Syrskyi assured that the operation on the Kursk direction is ongoing.

However, the Commander-in-Chief emphasized that the enemy has an advantage in using fiber-optic drones.
