Germany will finance the purchase of Ukrainian long-range weapons worth hundreds of millions of euros.
Defense Minister Rustem Umerov announced thisbon his page on Facebook, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"We signed a Letter of Intent, according to which Germany will finance the purchase of Ukrainian long-range weapons worth hundreds of millions of euros. This is a direct strengthening of our defense industry and the Defense Forces, which use deep strike weapons," he said.
Umerov also noted that Germany has announced a military aid package worth EUR 5 billion, the financing of which has already been approved by the Bundestag.
Germany will also finance the purchase of Ukrainian-made medical equipment.
Umerov also reported that Germany has pledged to support investments in the Ukrainian defense industry and to call on others to do so, in particular in air defense.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Umerov also reported that Ukraine has reached an agreement with the German company Diehl Defence on the production of IRIS-T missile systems and missiles for them for EUR 2.2 billion.
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said that Germany's military support for Ukraine will be continued and expanded.
