Rada proposes to recognize North Korea as aggressor state

7 members of the Verkhovna Rada propose to the parliament to recognize North Korea as an aggressor state due to its participation in the russian-Ukrainian war.

This is stated in the draft resolution No. 13301, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

It is proposed to appeal to the United Nations, the European Parliament, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, the GUAM Parliamentary Assembly and national parliaments of the world with an appeal to recognize the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) as an aggressor state.

The appeal is related to the actual participation of the North Korea in the russian federation's military aggression against Ukraine and the supply of weapons to the aggressor.

According to the appeal, the Verkhovna Rada notes that the actions orussia's waf the DPRK, in particular the permission to use armed forces on the territory of another state in violation of the conditions or the extension of their stay, are qualified as an "act of aggression" in accordance with Article 3 of UN General Assembly Resolution 3314 "Definition of Aggression" of December 14, 1974.

Among the authors: MPs from the European Solidarity faction Oleksii Honcharenko, Sofia Fedyna, MP from the Holos faction Nataliya Pipa, MP from the Servant of the People faction Heorhii Mazurashu.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the aggressor country of russia intends to name streets in settlements in the Kursk Oblast in honor of the servicemen of North Korea (DPRK) who participated in the war against Ukraine on the side of the russian federation.
