Russia killed family of three - President Zelenskyy reveals details of strike on bus in Sumy Region

The russian army killed a family: a father, a mother and their daughter during a strike on an evacuation bus in the Sumy Region.

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported this on his official Telegram channel.

According to him, seven people are currently in hospitals after a russian drone hit the bus. People have burns, fractures, contusions. Everyone is receiving the necessary assistance. He also recalled that nine people have already been killed.

"According to preliminary information, the Russians killed a family: a father, mother and daughter died from the strike. My condolences to their relatives and friends. All the dead are civilians. And the Russians could not help but understand which vehicle they were targeting. This was a deliberate killing of civilians," Zelenskyy wrote.

The President recalled that yesterday, during the talks in Istanbul, the russians had the opportunity to cease fire.

"Ukraine has been proposing this for a long time - a complete and unconditional ceasefire in order to save lives. Russia only retains the opportunity to continue killing for itself," Zelenskyy noted.

He believes that the world should put pressure on russia to stop the killings. For this, sanctions should be strengthened.

"Yesterday in Istanbul, everyone saw a weak and unprepared Russian delegation without significant powers. This must change. Real steps are needed to end the war. We expect strong sanctions against Russia from the US, Europe and all our partners," Zelenskyy wrote.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the morning of May 17, a russian drone attacked a bus near Bilopillia, Sumy Region. Nine people were killed.
