The international organization Reporters Without Borders (RSF) and the Ukrainian human rights organization Truth Hounds stated that the army of the aggressor country russia is deliberately attacking hotels where journalists are staying.

This is stated in a joint report by RSF and Truth Hounds.

The report states that from the beginning of russia's full-scale invasion until March 15, 2025, the russian army launched 31 attacks on 25 hotels in cities in different regions of Ukraine.

It is noted that only one hotel was used by military personnel. The others were occupied by civilians, including journalists.

RSF and Truth Hounds said that 27 of the 31 attacks took place in regions located near active fighting zones.

Of these, 23 occurred between 8:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m., when hotels are most busy.

At the same time, 15 strikes were carried out using 9K720 Iskander ballistic missiles.

The work of journalists in Ukraine has been significantly complicated due to russian strikes. Since 2023, 64% of Ukrainian and 43% of foreign journalists have avoided staying in hotels.

And 13% of all surveyed journalists were forced to limit or stop their activities in front-line regions.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in October 2024, Radio Liberty journalists came under russian shelling in the Bakhmut area of the Donetsk Region.

Recall that earlier the Verkhovna Rada regulated the insurance of journalists working in the zone of active hostilities.
