Defense Intelligence tells how special forces "rescued" their comrades who were poisoned with gas by russians
Special forces used drones to free three Ukrainian defenders, against whom the enemy used an unknown chemical substance and took them prisoner.
The Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported on the course of the operation.
Thus, initially three soldiers of the "Artan X" unit, which is part of the "Artan" special unit of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, set off on a mission - to carry out a sabotage and reconnaissance raid on the positions of the 247th airborne assault regiment of the russian occupation forces.
Having reached the enemy positions, the Ukrainian fighters clashed with an enemy group and entered into close combat - three against three. In battle, the enemy used an unknown chemical substance, and as a result of gas poisoning, the Defense Forces fighters lost combat capability and were captured by the occupiers.
The enemy began to retreat towards the settlement under their control, but their movement was recorded by aerial reconnaissance units of the active operations of the Defense Intelligence.
"At the moment when the Russian paratroopers with our prisoners reached the first shelter, the masters from "Artan" and adjacent units targeted the enemy with FPV drones to repel our guys – Ketsa, Anubis and Kliuchyk," said the commander of the unit "Artan X" with the call sign Favoryt.
The first russian paratrooper was eliminated. One of the captured Defense Intelligence fighters with the call sign Ketsa took advantage of the chaos and panic among the occupiers.
"I waited for a good moment and slipped out, found shelter in one of the destroyed buildings and began to wait for the end. My chest was burning from the gas that the Russians were poisoning us with. When our FPVs flew in, it was an incredible feeling. I am very grateful to my brothers for not leaving us to our fate and actually rescuing us from captivity," he said.
Meanwhile, the strike drone operators destroyed the second invader, and the third and last russian paratrooper from the group crawled under an old truck, but the Ukrainian FPV masters got him there too.
It is stated that after the elimination of the enemy group, a reconnaissance drone flew up to the two fighters of "Artan X" with instructions from the commander to withdraw from the occupied territory. The third attack aircraft reached the unit's positions on its own a few hours later, when the sun set.
"They practically snatched our people from the enemy's clutches right on the battlefield. Now everyone is in high spirits. Such epic stories raise the fighting spirit," Favoryt said.
The Defense Intelligence noted that the liberated fighters of "Artan X" returned with captured weapons and important data. All of them are currently undergoing treatment for burns caused by russian chemicals.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, border guards conducted a unique operation, freeing three Ukrainian fighters from russian captivity with the help of drones.
